We will develop an innovate method for “an all-optical electrophysiology” to record and manipulate the neural activity of multiple neurons simultaneously with cellular resolution in vivo. Firstly, we will generate novel opsin-based genetically encoded voltage indicators which show improved brightness and voltage sensitivity by two-photon excitation in vivo. Secondally, we will find new optogenetic tools that are available with new voltage indicator with cross-talk-free.
